We started with the sound.

Under Cloudtop Studios we make natural soundscapes for sleep, study and unwinding — rain on a tent, a campfire going quiet, a shoreline at four in the morning. Hours long, no talking, no ads mid-stream. That work is free and it stays free.

But the sound was only ever half of it. Winding down is a physical thing too — the cup you always use, the tea you make in it, the sweater that means it is evening now. The sound is the cue; the objects are the ritual.

So we made the objects.

Two brands, one idea

Satori™ is what you drink — shilajit and daily supplements, loose leaf tea, mushroom coffee. Kensho™ is what you hold and wear — mugs and cups, travel drinkware, strainers and canisters, tees and sweaters.

Both names are words for the same moment. Satori and kenshō are two Japanese words for a sudden seeing-clearly — the instant where the noise stops and you notice where you actually are. One is what you put in the cup. The other is the cup.

How we decide what to sell

Slowly, and with the thing in our hands. Nothing goes on sale here on the strength of a supplier photograph. If it is not good enough to reach for every day, it does not get to carry one of these names.

Three rules we are holding ourselves to:

• Say what is in it. Full ingredient lists, extraction ratios, Latin binomials, batch numbers. If we are proud of a formula we can print it.
• Test what we can test. Third-party heavy-metal and identity testing on anything ingestible, GC/MS on the oils, and the certificate published rather than promised.
• Do not make health claims we cannot stand behind. Supplements are supplements. Tea is tea. A diffuser is a diffuser. Anyone telling you a jar of resin will fix your life is selling you something else.
